IRU rewards best Eurasian hauliers 2011 | 2/3/2012
IRU recognises outstanding Eurasian road transport companies for their implementation of best practices in environmental protection, corporate social responsibility and economic performance in 2011. Geneva – On the occasion of the General Assembly of the International Road Transport Union (IRU), IRU President, Janusz Lacny, presented the 9th IRU awards for the “Best Eurasian Road Transport Operator”. The award, organised jointly with the CIS Transport Coordination Council, recognises outstanding performance in road transport management, including the development and implementation of best practices in favour of social programmes and environmental preservation. This year, the jury paid particular attention to Euro norm compliance, financial stability, as well as professional training of staff. After assessment of entries by an international jury*, awards were presented to the best company in each of the three different fleet size categories: Category 1 Award (up to 10 vehicles): SvetAvtoTrans (Russia) Category 2 Award (11 to 50 vehicles): Hegelmann Transporte (Kazakhstan) Category 3 Award (more than 50 vehicles): Intertransavto, (Belarus) The IRU Certificate of Honour was awarded to four companies for their achievements in specific areas. These certificates went to Altircom (Moldova) for the high environmental standards of the fleet; Barva-Avto (Ukraine), for the efficiency of transport operations; K-Transit, (Russia), for high quality services; and Sergorus-UZ (Uzbekistan), for its strong focus on vocational training.
